For years I used a stack of commercial "tea towels" that I bought from a restaurant supply store in New Zealand. But nothing lasts forever, so eventually I had to give up. (Pun!) Every kitchen towel I've bought in the US has been a disappointment, it doesn't work as well as the ones made in New Zealand. The thin ones were absorbent but got wet quickly and were unusable after a few washes. The thick ones always left the dishes wet and lots of fluff, even after numerous washes. I ordered these despite the negative reviews because they were marked as "commercially available". Like other reviewers, I found they didn't absorb very well and left a lot of lint, but I didn't give up. I've washed and dried them several times and each time they get a little better. They are now at the point where they are extremely soft and absorbent and don't leave lint. I'm glad I persevered as they are attractive and worth the effort.
