I do mean "The best $38 I have ever spent", and NO, the install job is not permanent (with the clamps). It looks like crap, but I wanted to see and hear if it made a difference! I will have it installed correctly now.I wanted to upgrade the exhaust on my '01 SV650, but I was not wanting to spend $300 for a "resonator". I located this pipe on Best Buy and figured it was cheap enough to "roll the dice". I received the pipe yesterday, and took a few measurements with a decibel sound-meter, and was pleasantly surprised by the reduction in noise! The bike w/o a muffler was nearing 115-120 DBs, and with the pipe 95-100 DBs!I know its not carbon fiber, but the pipe (not the metal) stays warm to the touch, and would not burn you unlike the stock pipe. Another benefit of this pipe is the WEIGHT REDUCTION! The stock pipe felt to be a good 10 - 15 lbs (did not weigh it), and this pipe might be all of 3 lbs. Overall, I still feel this is an amazing product, and would buy again and again.
