We've had a five-stage reverse osmosis filtration system in the kitchen for several years. We regularly change various filters and reverse osmosis membranes as needed. Our storage tank was no longer holding the pressure, so we had to replace it. The reviews were good, so we bought a "TankRO" brand tank. We noticed that the taste of the water gradually got worse and worse. When we emptied the tank and refilled it, the water was fine at first. But after a few days it became inedible. So we changed all the filters and the reverse osmosis membrane. Problem still exists. I checked PH and TDS and both were fine. We didn't feel anything, but the water had a sharp chemical taste and an unpleasant aftertaste. I have a permeate pump so we can get small jets of filtered water even with the storage valve closed. So I turned off the faucet, then turned on the faucet and left it open for a few hours to get the old water out of the line. Then I filled a clean glass mug and tasted the water. Everything was good. So I bought another tank, another brand, and now the water is fine. PH and TDS are still normal, the water tastes good.
