Water tastes bad

We've had a five-stage reverse osmosis filtration system in the kitchen for several years. We regularly change various filters and reverse osmosis membranes as needed. Our storage tank was no longer holding the pressure, so we had to replace it. The reviews were good, so we bought a "TankRO" brand tank. We noticed that the taste of the water gradually got worse and worse. When we emptied the tank and refilled it, the water was fine at first. But after a few days it became inedible. So we…

Great replacement for the original stock tank

We bought a GE reverse osmosis system at a national hardware store. Almost 10 years later, the reservoir that came with the system just couldn't hold much water. Filling our one gallon kettle depleted the supply. I don't know why the tank didn't hold as much water as it used to (maybe sediment since we're in a well), but the tank had to be replaced. OEM tanks are not only expensive, they are also hard to find. I chose this memory because it is affordable and compatible. Installing the tank was…

The tanks work fine but the T valve is leaking

I installed this tank for about 2 months as the original pressure could no longer hold. Replacing the RO132 water tank was easy, except for the valve port on the top of the tank. I have a GE GXRV10ABL01 reverse osmosis system. The 2.5 gallon tank it came with had a 1/4" MPT fitting connected to a plastic hose nut with an internal compression sleeve. For simplicity, I planned to use the same hose nut but with a compression sleeve was 3/8" and did not fit the new tank's MPT fitting. I ended up…

Pros
  • Good product for the price

Good quality tank, well written instructions

I bought this to replace a 3 year old reversing tank that had lost pressure. I received it in less than a week, which was amazing for the time. The reason I gave 5 stars is the instructions that came with it. There is an extra step between attaching the valve and connecting to the filters. They force you to connect the valve directly to the cold water line of the pre-filter and fill for a minute and then flush. My guess is that it uses the full pressure of the water from the supply line to open

Pros
  • One year trial period
Cons
  • Only available in white

4 gallon reverse osmosis storage tank

My GE Profile RO water flow went from flood to trickle overnight. After doing some research (after changing the filters and thinking they were clogged but they weren't) I found that these tanks have a chamber inside that holds the water and the tank with air between the chamber and the tank is pressurized. When I checked the valve stem to make sure my tank had just lost air pressure to pump more air in, water came out. After further research I found that if water is leaking from the valve then…

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
