Although it's almost ridiculously bulky, it really could be a fantastic little device. But the UI is COMPLETELY unintuitive and requires you to hop your fingers across the damn thing to complete the most basic tasks. You use the side switch for some menu functions, but then it's at the top of the player for the arrow keys and backing up screen by screen to get to the main menu. It twitches that mp3 files are not always displayed, the FF and RW functions do not always work entirely correctly, there is no pause. The saddest thing is that probably 85% of these oddities could be fixed by a really good firmware fix, but nothing seems to be expected. When it plays it's not bad, but on the other hand it's so bulky that you won't use it as a portable MP3 player or audio player. BTW it plays full .wav files, which is what I expected, although nowhere in the literature does it say it does. Not ARCHOS, which is probably the worst customer service company in gadget history. Serious. These people tried to tell me that when I reconfigured the device for repair, I sent them an empty box. I have a device that I have already returned THREE TIMES. THE WORST. But I digress. Until there is a major firmware fix or discount, I cannot recommend this.
