Easy to unfold, I was careful (probably too careful due to the big finger injury warning when opening the wire part of the basket) but actually it was easy, no sudden bang . Just use your mind ;). The padding is neat with little handles and thick enough to cushion my small dog, as well as short-term insulation when I'm buying frozen food from the store. It's not very big, but enough to fit a few things in it AND it fits (though barely) my small dog who weighs about 8 pounds (Maltese Cross). She seemed to enjoy being in it and didn't move at all while I rode the scooter at super-low speed (3 mph). Safety is the top priority. I had to bend the metal hooks a bit to fit the scooter better, but it became stable after you put it around the scooter's neck. My only complaint is that the zip feels flimsy and a bit flimsy, so I'm not sure if it will last and be very gentle with it when I use the zip (which doesn't happen very often as I mostly have a wide basket use ). open).
