This is the same band as Eufy G30 Verge. We purchased a total of 4 rolls of this product to mark areas around our home. It works when left free on the floor and also under the edge of thin carpets. We stuck to both the bottom and the edge of the carpet and had no trouble getting up. We learned two important things: First, all this device needs to get through the patch is a 4- to 6-inch bandgap. When planning this layout, and you should plan it before cutting, make sure you don't leave any gaps in the tape. Second, if you're concerned about damaging your floor with the included 3M double-sided tape, we used 3M Command Planks with a 3lb weight rating. We were able to purchase a bundle of these individual command hooks with which they are commonly used. Since we have hardwood floors, we thought it was a worthwhile investment. All tape was installed light side up. The device did not overcome any of the magnetic barriers, including thresholds. I will add that there is no metal threshold in our house, everything is wood, tile, carpet and vinyl. Ribbon is an investment that can be expensive, but it's worth it. We returned a similar item because it didn't work, but this barrier tape worked 100%. It also has a lower profile than other barrier tapes we've tried, so it lays nice and flat under carpets and in high-traffic areas. Highly recommended.
