Review on Hosa CMP 159 Stereo Breakout Cable by Jonathan Self

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Cheap. Failed within a week. Spend a few bucks more and get a repairable cable

I know better than to buy a cable with soldered plastic connectors that can't be opened up and resoldered, but I did it anyway. They failed in one of the 1/4" TRS connectors within a week. I might fix it someday with good TRS fittings that cost the same as all those cables, but by then I'll have bought a good quality 3.5mm patch. I could take care of the return, but I throw it in a broken cable box and that's it. Other Hosa cables appear to be of acceptable quality. In this case, it's not Hosa's fault that you sometimes want to gamble for a cheap cable. Unfortunately, a certain percentage of all audio cables will always fail, with that percentage being higher at this cheaper end of the spectrum, lesson learned (re-)learned.
