I used to use stainless steel scrubbers (like Scotch-Brite scrubbers) on my cast iron cookware, but they didn't last long and became uncomfortable after a few days. This chain scraper does its job well and looks like it will last you a lifetime. I find that the occasional burnt food still responds best to the sharper edges of stainless steel scrubbers, but that's secondary. The scrubber is reputable and I'm glad I bought it.
