Review on HORLIMER Picture Tabletop Horizontally Vertically by Tracy Clark

Good price, looks good, cardboard base is very cheap although

It was a very good price - I bought them on sale for $3 each - and they look very nice. I also love how your photo just slides into the background and can be easily removed. There are no clasps to fiddle with, making things a lot easier. My only concern is that the photo will slip into the area between the frame and a piece of cardboard (mattboard or backing) where the cardboard looks cheap and may not be chemically stable. Luckily only the back of the photo is visible on the cardboard, but I am concerned that the photo could be damaged if the cardboard leaches chemicals or acids over time. I have read the information on this and photo archivists recommend using MicroChamber release paper between the mat/cardboard and the photo to avoid chemical damage. I'll keep looking at this. In the meantime I'll keep checking the photo to make sure it's ok and will let you know if anything changes. At the moment it gets 4 stars. I wish they would use a different material for the area where the photo will be pasted, or at least tell us how safe the place to save the photos should be. Or provide MicroChamber release paper (although at this price point I know it's overpriced). Other than that, it's a solid, good-looking frame that's well put to use.
