Decent post-charcoal filter. Just give him a conditioner.

I'm not sure if other carbon parts reviews are coming out. Yes, you should ALWAYS rinse them until traces of free carbon are removed before using the water. I flushed it for a good ten minutes and there was no trace of carbon after that. The price is reasonable and the filter doesn't look any better or worse than the ones I've used before.
