I recently replaced my laptop's internal optical drive with another hard drive, but wanted it to be available in case I needed to read or write a CD/DVD. This case was easy to install. The instructions are simple (although you don't need them). It worked for me without an additional power cord. The case looks solid and I was happy to know that it is also compatible with Linux (openSuse Leap). I wish the USB cable had standard USB-A connectors on both ends, but I've found that many manufacturers use this type of connector. from the side of the device. Ease of installation. Strength.
