I have tried various webcams including some with a built in ring light. This one is a lot brighter than the others and I love that it also has different light temperatures. It has 2 warm lights and 1 cold light, you just click on the top of the camera to choose what you prefer or nothing at all. You can't just rely on recessed lighting, so you need ambient light, be it interior lighting or sunlight through some windows. Autofocus can take some effort, but like in low light, it can take forever to get your face back into focus.
