I bought Netgear WiFi Mesh Range EX-8000 from Revain. When it arrived it turned out to be a certified refurbished unit. This was not clearly marked when purchased. The extender was relatively easy to set up and boosted the signal so Wi-Fi worked in rooms far from the router. So far, so good. Unfortunately, the extension cord that arrived on November 1st began to fail in February. At the end of February, the expander was shut down and had to be restarted almost every day. On March 8, the extension cord died completely. I called Revain and found that their warranty expired after 90 days; They put me in contact with Netgear support, and after an excruciatingly tedious repetition of contact information and product serial numbers, I was finally told that Netgear's warranty is also only 90 days. If you're looking for a WiFi signal extender, I'd recommend staying away from Netgear. A quick look at online product reviews shows that Netgear products fail quite frequently after around 6 months. I feel bad that I didn't do my homework better and didn't know about it before hitting the buy button; I hope to save others this problem.
