I've spent a lot of money on my carbon frame bike and would hate to lose it. I had a cable lock that I thought was pretty secure until I watched a YouTube video made by a locksmith checking the time it takes to pick the locks (by picking or brute force). I've never considered how quickly a criminal can cut through a cable lock with the right tools (e.g. basic bolt cutters). Even most chain locks can be picked in seconds with large bolt cutters or a $100 cordless angle grinder. It took them so long to get through they probably would have missed my bike and looked for an easier target. I feel safe locking my bike with this chain. The only downside is that it's quite heavy, but that's a compromise I was willing to make for the added security of this design and the materials used in this lock.
