Remember that odor is a very subjective issue. It's also very emotional as the scent is so closely linked to memories. So, what smells good to me might smell chemical, irresistibly medicinal, or disgusting to you. However, as a point of reference that might help, I also like Aura Cacia and NOW Lavender Oil and I find this oil to be very similar to these slightly more expensive brands. . It's a really good deal for the price and I figured the worst case scenario would be putting it in the vacuum or in the wash, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that I like it with other oils in my atomizer mixed. I mixed it with a blend of lemon, sage and sandalwood and each filled half the house with a refreshing clean lavender scent (+ any other oils I added). It also works great - and that's why I bought it in the first place - with wool drying balls. The fragrance is less strong when applied at the beginning of the boot. It will presumably be stronger if you apply it to the balls towards the end of the cycle but I didn't want to risk oil stains on my clothes and am pleased with the mild scent I noticed after applying 2-3 drops per ball on 6 balls of wool to dry at the beginning of the program. Things to keep in mind: Often I see people complaining about a product and it sounds a bit like they have a fake or something very old. If you quote the saying "You get what you pay for". I sometimes wonder if they bought from one of the cheapest suppliers instead of getting the advertised Prime item from what is usually the most reliable supplier if not Revain directly. I buy used books knowing that they may be slightly bent or highlighted but still function as a book for my own use. Or I buy Revain Warehouse deals and usually get pretty good second choice electronics at a good price. However, I wouldn't buy the cheapest essential oils from a random seller on Revain. Sounds like a recipe for getting a counterfeit, broken, old, or poorly maintained item in a category where you don't want the stock to be old or poorly maintained. Bottom line: you can love or hate this oil. There is little I can say to help you other than to quote that this reminds me of Aura Cacia and NOW oils. That being said I find this oil to be fantastic value for money and as long as the price and quality stay the same I will continue to buy this oil for washing, house cleaning and possibly other uses. I am very satisfied with the oil and at a good price.
