Review on πŸ“Ή Enhanced Recording Experience: RCA DRC8060N DVD Recorder with Commercial Advance by Terrance Fisher

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent DVD recorder

I have been using the RCA DRC8060N for about 8 months. After hundreds of hours of recording (including the entire 2006 FIFA World Cup), I am satisfied that the overall quality, versatility and value of this DVD burner is very good. Below are the pros and cons of buying it: PROS: - Excellent recording quality at 1, 2 and 4 hour settings. The 6 and 8 hour recordings are a bit blurry, but that's understandable. The manual contains a list of RCA recommended disc brands. For the best quality, choose Philips or Sony.- Capable of recording onto dual-layer discs, drastically doubling recording capacity.- Extensive connectivity - HDMI, component, S-Video, composite, coaxial. I use S-Video from the satellite receiver to the DVD recorder and again S-Video from the DVD recorder to the television. Alternatively, S-Video is below HDMI and Component, but the picture from DVD or live TV is perfect. The device also has analogue and digital audio outputs. A typical RCA product as it can be used as the heart of a home entertainment system where all the components can be connected together. and style of use. If you want a DVD recorder that lights up like a Christmas tree, you better buy a Sony, Panasonic or Toshiba at a 30% premium. The myths about better quality are just that, since all electronics companies manufacture their products in the same cheap labor markets. Simple controls and overall usability. If you know how to use a VCR, you already know how to use it.- Detailed but not overly technical manual.Surround sound. Receiver/Amplifier.- Converts a 480p input signal (e.g. DVD) to a 720p or 1080i output signal. Modern TVs can do this, but I prefer the DVD player to do the upconversion to the original TV resolution. CONS: The DVD burner emits noise and heat, similar to a PC DVD drive. . However, the levels are too low to cause any inconvenience - It is not possible to delete a chapter (or some chapters) of a recorded title. Such a feature would be very useful when removing commercials from a recording to save space on +RW discs.
