Review on Sigma 17-50mm f/2.8 EX DC OS HSM FLD Lens: Large Aperture Standard Zoom for Canon DSLR - International Version (No Warranty) by Kichiro Diaz ᠌

The product is of poor quality, I don't recommend it.

Bought, coveted by some reviews, cost and aperture ratio. Regretted. Very sorry! The lens is completely out of alignment! The worst in accuracy among the available relatives (even very budget ones). When buying tested on the table. Everything was OK. But only then I saw how autofocus messes up, depending not only on the distance to the subject, but also on focal lengths! At 50 mm there is a very noticeable back, at 17 - the front. It hits only in the region of 35 mm . that is, the factory does not particularly bother with adjustment (strange, given that the glass is made in Japan), hence the low cost. I did not notice that the focusing speed is noticeably higher than lenses without USM. And the spinning focus ring generally kills . the lens. It should be noted that it is located exactly where the hand rests when shooting, which is why the lens squeaks plaintively and runs the risk of being covered with a copper basin. Further, it turned out that everything is very bad with the Sigma service (I live in Hong Kong) and I need to send it for adjustment along with the carcass for at least a month! Vobschem disappointed . what you do not wish! Only native glasses! Only with adequate service!

Pros
  • Price, decent-solid appearance, strong and solid (as it seemed at first)
