I bought this to replace an outdated (25+ year old) Panasonic system I was using in my home office. As described, this is the perfect alternative to spending big bucks on another Panasonic system. However, the product description is misleading as to its actual capabilities. This is especially true if you want it to work in the rest of your home and the other lines are for personal use. I'm a fairly tech-savvy person and have a very intuitive understanding of how things work. BUT. This amazed me on the positive side: 1. Speech intelligibility is excellent2. Reception at some distance from the base station is excellent3. If you want music to be held, this works great4. The display is large and clear. Looks nice. If you use more than one line or part of the system for personal use and the family has a line or two for personal use, unfortunately this is not the system you want. The setup instructions are a bit vague on how all the features work properly2. Unless you're using a shared mailbox to tell the caller to dial an extension, you can't set up voicemail for each individual phone line. As an example, line 1 and possibly 2 would be business and I would like a separate announcement and then line 3 private. This is not the way to work, there is no way to separate linear functions and have a virtual machine for each line. To get messages you have to go into the menu every time, switch to General Mail and then VM Listening and you don't know which line it came from. The path is too confusing for the rest of the family.3. PHONES DON'T TALK TO EACH OTHER This is a feature I really don't understand how the software can't program it. For example, if you see missed calls or voicemails on a cordless handset or desktop console and listen to/view them and then delete them, they will NOT be deleted on all other devices at the same time. You must perform the same task on each device. So if you have 5 or 6 handsets, each device needs to run independently each time. That's pain in you. Although their technical support was very good, they confirmed to me all the bugs that were inconvenient for the user, which I have been used to for years and which you believe are programmed. End As a result, I returned the entire system and installed an updated Panasonic system.
