It cost me $280 to remove these $5 caps on a 2013 Hyundai Elantra. Apparently my car has valve stems from an Aluminum Tire Monitoring System (TPMS). I put these caps on in the fall and in the middle of winter they were sticking to the stem. I tried a vise, but even that couldn't remove it. When I took my car to Costco to buy new tires a few months later, they informed me that there was no way to remove the caps and that they would have to fail along with the TPMS. The chemical reaction created a permanent bond. Costco didn't charge for labor, just the TPMS units themselves. So not only did I buy new tires, I bought another $280 since the factory TPMS needed to be replaced. Keep in mind. Now I'm sticking with plastic caps!
