Review on πŸ”Œ 10Pcs Brass Insulated Safety Shrouded 4mm Female Banana Plug Jack Socket Solder Cable Connector - Secure and Reliable Electrical Connections by Grace Brown

Revainrating 4 out of 5

They are as advertised

Easy to attach wires: about 1/2 inch, thread the bare end through the back of the socket, then solder. You must "support" the connector and wire while soldering to maintain "alignment". As per the description instructions, make sure you put the sheath on the wire before soldering the wire to the connector! I gave 4 stars because it takes some time. Efforts to "plant" the jack into the housing. Using a "banana plug" DOES NOT HELP when inserting the jack - I had to use a small screwdriver to push the jack 1/4" into the shroud until it clicked (you'll feel it is "locked". After that it is VERY FIRM in the case. I like the finished assembly as the end of the socket is 1/4" from the end of the shroud for safety. Banana plugs are easy to insert and held securely in the socket, and the outer shell of the "closed" plugs fit snugly over the insulated end of the socket, eliminating the possibility of "accidental shorts, etc." I RECOMMEND them to anyone wanting to make "extension" test leads (female-to-female, male-to-female).

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks
