These make great table accessories and great conversation pieces. The fact that they nest in a small tray makes them even cuter. But they do feel small (1 1/2 inches in diameter) and their spherical shape doesn't make them the most practical salt and pepper shakers. Others have found that they don't last much either. It is true . but I'm not a big saltophile so we don't have to refill them often. I would put larger capacity salt/pepper containers where you are preparing food. It's just for taste. However, they bring a smile to the table every time we put them on the table ;-)
