Review on Solia Professional Ceramic Flat Iron by Teresa Olson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

It's definitely not an old model

I've waited a few weeks to write a review on this iron because I wanted to see how it would hold up in everyday use. This is my second salt. My first was about 5 years old and somehow shorted the wire and turned on, but didn't burn. I really liked the old one. However, this one is weird. It looks well made, like a soft rubber material while the old one was like hard plastic. But this new one has totally different records that pull the shit out of my hair! The plates protrude quite far from the device and this creates a gap where hair can very easily get stuck. Not my old man. Also, there is a temperature scale that only lists the lowest and highest values, so you can't tell which style you're actually styling your hair with. It does a good job of straightening but I have to keep going through my hair and while it's sticky I just feel like it's a bad straightener. It also makes an odd crackling or popping sound when I turn it on. It's not the worst but definitely not the best and I really wish it was old because that's what's pictured here, not what they sent.

Pros
  • There's something to it
Cons
  • Minor imperfections
