Review on 🌊 Navionics Platinum+ MSD/638P+ Puget Sound Nautical Chart - SD/Micro-SD Card by Gary Stringfield

I bought a platinum chip to get the autotrace feature and used it in the unit that came with the regular Navionics charts. The Platinum setting messes up the normal fringe charts. This is because the Platinum maps end at the Canadian border, but the overlay is rectangular, so you lose all adjacent map information between the border and the edge of the rectangular field used by the Platinum map (see attached screenshot) . support solution? Put your original Navionics chip back in the plotter! As for autorouting, sometimes it's very hard to stop it from what it thinks is the best course. Just try cruising up the Snomish Channel a bit - it will send your boat through Deception Pass. Verdict: Master manual routing with basic Navionics software (which is good). Don't waste your money on Platinum.
