Received yesterday and calibrated all 4 probes in boiling water. Only minor adjustments were needed, which was reassuring. I started smoking this morning and decided to use my old single probe thermometer along with this one for comparison. There was a temperature difference of 20+ degrees! I went to check my calibration settings and they were all set to an offset of 20 degrees. The software won't let you move more than 12.2 degrees to calibrate, but somehow the system decided 20 degrees was what it needed. I recalibrated again and not only used my old digital block, but also an analog candy thermometer in boiling water. Convinced them all to agree that the boiling water was 212 degrees, then put the thing back in the meat and in the smoker with the old number pad for comparison. After 30 minutes the 20 degree delta was back and the calibration settings showed a 20 degree shift. If this happens again, the company gets a smoky return, because 20 degrees is an unacceptable deviation, especially when the application software is obviously violating its own settings to achieve it. Very unhappy now.
