These lights perform well thanks to the remote controls included. Although four remote controls are included, one can be used to control all four lights. At first it was difficult for me to open a light to insert the batteries, but I was able to solve this problem. According to the instructions, the headlights should be tightly closed. I had condensation in a flashlight and I'm guessing I didn't close it tight. I tried using these lamps in a bird bath but they were too big. My estimate of battery life is based on the fact that I only used the light for about 2 hours and then put it aside (indoors). After 2 months of inactivity I tried turning them on and all four died. There's probably a circuit running all the time to receive commands from the IR remotes. Suggest removing batteries before off-season storage. They work as advertised, just be prepared to drain the batteries if you use them frequently.
