Review on Lasko Twin Electric Window Fan with Reverse Functionality, EA by Troy Williams

I recently ordered a second Lasko with two fans to replace the previous one. The previous one served 7 years while working 50% of that time. It was used by the closed porch window where my wife was smoking. Fan, located on the porch of southern Indiana, an area of 150 square meters. Feet in an east-facing window are exposed to an average of 40 inches of rain per year. The fan had to be cleaned of dust and weather influences every year. The construction is made of plastic, stainless steel screws hold the case together. Phillips screws. You can remove about 10 screws and open the fan to reveal its interior. I ended up changing the fan controller. This is because the fan was not spinning on cold or chilly days. Obviously the fan is set to run when the temperature is warm or hot. The purpose of this fan is to cool the room. Even setting the thermostat to full power wasn't enough in the winter months. I ended up removing the temperature controller and short wiring because we wanted the fan to spin regardless of the porch temperature. This thermostat removal worked well for us for years and smokers were able to smoke and the porch was smoke free in about an hour. The plastic is tough enough for a fan that's likely to fail in less than 10 years. The accordion slides on either side look a bit cheap but they have held up for 7 years exposed to rain and sun. The fan seems to make very little noise at low speeds. However, at high frequencies, there is a much more distinct sound of fan blades cutting through the air. I've seen comments about the sound and volume of air movement. It doesn't move much air. Cubic feet per minute is not listed anywhere. But that's enough for us. The main switch low/high/off broke after 7 years. One fan hardly turned, the other worked much more slowly. It's time to replace.
