    Much better than I thought!

I am a smoker and need a window extractor. This fan really does the job. My house usually smells like smoke but is now cleaning this fan clears the house in about 2 hours.Close up the fan makes about 50db of noise but where I sit at home the noise level is only about 35db.I am very happy with this purchase. Will buy again if needed.

    Good fans, poor case.

Nice little fan, not overpowered. It's kind of a pain to get it and take it out the window. WAY too big a problem for my mom I bought it for. So it's a failure. Expansion panels don't like to stay. It's just annoying. If you plan on leaving it on the window all the time, that would be fine. It doesn't have a privacy screen, it would be nice if the grille were sloped so you have airflow with no line of sight. It could also be done so that no water gets into the engine. I wouldn't run this if it…

    Pros
    • EZ-Click Expansion Panels; adjustable thermostat; cut feet included
    Cons
    • I have no real complaints about it, everything is fine

    Passable but inefficient

When you need to move a lot of air in or out of a room or group of rooms, you need a fan that can move as much air as possible. With short blades and wide open gaps around the blades of these fans, the volume of air flowing through the fan is far from its potential. In one room, down a short hallway and in another room no air movement is felt in any of the rooms, only when air is sucked in is there air movement felt, and even then ONLY in a direct line with the fans and not at all in the hallway…

    Pros
    • Suitable for windows 25" to 35" wide and 12" high and above
    Cons
    • No power

I bought this for my bedroom window after our heat pump failed and we can't send someone to fix it so we don't have air conditioning. It fits perfectly, comes with small feet that you can use to easily put it on the floor or anywhere. It only has high or low settings, which is perfect for us as the air outside gets pretty chilly in the mornings and the window we mount it in is directly over our heads. During the day it provides cool air, at night we either set it to minimum or simply switch it…

Good deal, could use an improvement; but does the job.

I've been using this reversible Lasko fan for a little over a month, but as a small window fan that slides in easily it does a great job. It's easy to use, has 2 speeds - high and low - and you can run one or both at their own speed as well as on "exhaust" or "intake" depending on whether you're trying to get warm air out of the to vacuum room or bring it in. Wind. Since it's a "dual fan" with two fans in the same chassis working independently (more on that later), one person asked if it was…

One engine failed immediately and generally poor design.

This fan was intended to replace a Honeywell Duracraft I bought from a friend in 2001 for $20. Yes, the 15 year old fan was still kicking when I bought the Weasel! I've used Duracraft to blow cigarette smoke out of my computer room. So all I had to do was lube the motors with WD-40 from time to time to keep it running. A few months ago an engine failed completely (and I don't blame it - it's served me well all these years - rain/snow/heat - I've seen it all). So back to Lasko. The right fan was

Chimney Porch Exhaust for 7 years

I recently ordered a second Lasko with two fans to replace the previous one. The previous one served 7 years while working 50% of that time. It was used by the closed porch window where my wife was smoking. Fan, located on the porch of southern Indiana, an area of 150 square meters. Feet in an east-facing window are exposed to an average of 40 inches of rain per year. The fan had to be cleaned of dust and weather influences every year. The construction is made of plastic, stainless steel screws
