Review on πŸ”§ Lisle 13300 Filter Socket Set: The Ultimate Solution for Easy and Efficient Filter Removal by Grant Galloway

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Just a well made outlet for the money

Low profile and well made I can see. I still consider Snap Ons, at least as they were produced in the 80's and 90's, to be the gold standard of an outlet of sorts. The best heads are very precisely sized and made of very hard but not brittle steel and will never round their own grooves or the head of a bolt (assuming it's made reasonably well). I don't know if it's in that upper range, but so far it definitely seems solid. Keep in mind that while it looks like a shock bushing due to its black oxide coating, it isn't. Then again I bought it just to remove the plastic oil filter cover on a Chevy Cruze. He will never see high torque or offensive conditions. It's also hexagonal, which I think is the only decent configuration. 12 point heads seem to round anything but hardened screw heads and have no advantage except in situations with very limited access and range of motion.

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Long delivery time
