Review on Aluminum Printers with Moisture-Resistant PETG Filament by Will Schimmel

This product is marked 225-245 degrees Celsius so it will print easily on Ender 3 which has 250 degrees Celsius hotend. It does require some work to set it up for Ender 3 though. After a lot of trial and error I was able to print it quite successfully at 240 degrees Celsius and a print speed of 25mm at 60 degrees. Speed was the key factor. My first attempts at 35 and 30mm would simply crumble under pressure as the layers would separate. This is a little disappointing as PETG is known for its adhesive properties. It should be very tacky to the point where it pulls chunks off the glass surface due to the high level of adhesion. Tried to warm up but that didn't solve the problem. Even at 250 and 30mm it would just fall apart. So I went back to 240 degrees and started moving even slower. On a 25mm Presto, my prints were strong and flexible. This is by far the biggest problem I've had trying to get a successful print from a filament. I'm a beginner and don't have much experience yet, but still I feel like I've learned a lot so far. After all. This is a great thread. He is strong and beautiful looking. I needed some PETG for a few projects that required higher heat resistance than PLA and didn't want to deal with ABS smoke and stink. I also needed a translucent orange color for the grips of the Blade Runner pistol I'm printing. Despite my initial problems, I am very happy with this thread and happy with my purchase. This is my first experience with PETG and I may try other brands in the future. But I highly recommend Kodak PETG if you have an Ender 3 and are therefore limited to a maximum hot-end temp of 250. It works great. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is that it was a real struggle to find the perfect settings. Try this if you have Ender 3 and start with . (Extruder 240, bed 60 and speed 25mm).
