So far I've used this gun to stamp about 450 feet of Type II silicon and have had mixed results. I'm no pro, but let me describe how this gun performs in terms of pressure control. There are two methods to control the speed/pressure the gun applies to the pipe.1. On the back of the gun is a scale from 1 to 5. 1 applies very slowly and 2 applies too quickly. So fast that the product leaks out the back of the tube and makes a mess in the gun. You can adjust the slider in various increments from 1 to 2, but I still find "1.1" significantly faster than just 1. It's quite annoying and I've never had to go past 2.2. You can also control the speed by how hard you pull the trigger. Unfortunately, this control is not permanent. At half compression there is a lot of pressure as I start to unclog the bead and then it slows down as I go halfway through the bead. Then for some reason it speeds up again after I've made the bead a foot or two. So instead of moving the gun at a constant speed, I have to move faster or slower depending on how much pressure the gun is currently applying. Very frustrating. I'd rather be able to move at a constant rate, which requires the gun to also apply constant pressure, which is not the case with the variable trigger method. If the difference in speed between 1 and 2 wasn't so good for a dial, it would be a lot easier to use. That being said, the gun certainly saved me from a lot of hand cramps and probably carpal tunnel. I just wish the speed control was better.
