These are great. They're light, easy to use, and although they are plastic, they are wholly indistinguishable from metal grommets once they're on the rod. I've used these and the pewter shade, and both look professional. When you can't find the *perfect* curtains, these make it easy to find the perfect fabric and make your own perfect curtains. Just hem the fabric (for those without sewing machine or the patience with needle and thread, try using a natural fiber and hemming it using StitchWitchery or a similar bonding aid). Then just cut the grommet holes, place the grommets, and snap them on. I see that some reviewers had trouble snapping the grommets--I can only suggest doing it on a flat surface and not cutting the holes too large (an excellent trace-in template is provided in the package). If you have difficulty one way, try putting the other side of the grommet down and pressing the reverse one on top. Oddly, it seems easier to me when the ridged side is on the bottom and I press down on the spiky side, but others may find the reverse. At any rate, excellent product, good quality.
