Review on Asus GT 710 2GB GDDR5 Graphics Card with HDMI, VGA, and DVI - GT710-SL-2GD5-CSM by Cody Bowie

Revainrating 1 out of 5

This card is "incompatible " with HP motherboard

I bought this card because the old card was making fan noise. The new card is ASUS GT710 2GB, I inserted the card and locked the machine. I've tried many things but it stops at windows startup and stays stuck forever. I called Revain, they tried to help, then put me through to ASUS, they had no idea, and told me they had no technology available and they would call me back, they never did. It's rubbish, the card that came out is a Geforce 620 with no problems. It works even if I put it back, but this card doesn't work and there's no way to get it to work. Shame on you for selling this junk. I'm stuck with this now because I haven't had a chance to install it until yesterday when it says a 30 day return policy isn't a good idea to buy if you don't install it on the day it comes out. You'd think Revane would have factored in people leaving in the summer if he showed up a day before I knew it was rubbish. Maybe it works on one of my other computers, I would say not worth it. I'm updating this review, if I could give it a new rating it would be (NEGATIVE 5) stars. It's been a week now and this garbage is still garbage. I've spent way too many hours trying to get this to work, turns out this card "NOT WORKS" on HP computers. After researching everything, this is a known BIOS issue on 700 series cards and HP motherboards. Thanks Revane, you take the money out of our pockets and fill our dump with all the junk that doesn't work. I think one day it might be better to buy locally, at least you get it the same day and have a place to return it if it doesn't work and you almost never get items or used junk that not working. I'm updating for the second time, I got the card working, it took a lot of work, no help from ASUS or Amazon. So buy at your own risk. If your other card doesn't work and you can't get back to the screens, DO NOT BUY this card, it needs to be configured after the device boots up, if you don't have a screen or the computer doesn't recognize the new card, you're out of luck.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Expensive insurance
