Useful but not practical unless in large quantities!

I'm trying to reduce my electricity consumption and I'm using D-type batteries. The idea is to keep my electricity bill to zero, but the problem is that the charger uses energy that normal light doesn't. So I actually misplaced ALL my regular electric lights and put up lights that require 4 D cell batteries. Here's the main problem. This device does an excellent job of charging small batteries. I got a small 600mah AAA battery in a few hours, but two 10,000mah D-cells take TWO WEEKS on a single charge, so it's best to order a couple of these. Me? I have a small army of about 24 of these 10,000mAh batteries. So it takes 4 to 6 pieces at a price of about $150 just to pay the electric bill. Also, these bulbs cost about $40 each, so for 5 rooms that I use regularly, that would be $200 + $150 to turn the lights off for a full year. However, it is an effective way to reduce utility bills from reputable companies. It's expensive but worth it considering the YEARS of use!
