Serious Quality Control Issues

I must warn any potential buyer: this device has serious quality control issues! I had to send the device back because it no longer worked. If I shook the case or wires I could get it to work for a few minutes and then it would stop again. While this is a good concept and the reason I bought it was to have an ammeter so you can see the charging speed, it does have a serious limitation. First I noticed that any shadow, like the sun hiding behind a tree, reduces the milliamp output to almost…

Worked almost 2 years and stopped working.

I bought this solar charger in November 2016. From that point it worked until around the summer of 2018 when it just stopped loading. It's been sitting on my kitchen window seal the whole time so I don't know why it stopped working. I see that other customers are also having problems with theirs. As for the rest of the product, it sucks that it only charges 2 batteries at a time. But I found I didn't need to charge multiple batteries at once, so it worked. This is a very dated look. I have this

Great company, bad product.

Really disappointed with this unit. This gives an approximate charge time for different battery sizes, but a high capacity battery says a pair of D 5k-10k Mah cells will literally last WEEKS. The estimated charging time generally refers to batteries with a capacity of less than 500 mAh. Even the lightest AAA battery is usually 1500mAh, ie C Crane is a good company in general - I've known them and been buying their products for many years and it's because of that reputation that I bought this…

Useful but not practical unless in large quantities!

I'm trying to reduce my electricity consumption and I'm using D-type batteries. The idea is to keep my electricity bill to zero, but the problem is that the charger uses energy that normal light doesn't. So I actually misplaced ALL my regular electric lights and put up lights that require 4 D cell batteries. Here's the main problem. This device does an excellent job of charging small batteries. I got a small 600mah AAA battery in a few hours, but two 10,000mah D-cells take TWO WEEKS on a single

8/22/17: I just received this today and I've already put two AA batteries in it and put it outside in the hot delta sun to charge. Very easy to understand and use. Suitable for all battery sizes except 9 volts. Simultaneously charges two batteries of the same size. The information on the packaging indicates an average charging time: AAA takes 6 to 12 hours; AA lasts 15 to 31 hours; C is from 31 to 62 hours and D is from 69 to 138 hours. Yes, it's long, but if you find yourself in a situation…

Works as expected with jump starters, chargers and portable power supplies

I have had this charger for almost 3 years now and absolutely love it. I am a cyclist and often use battery powered flashlights. I also live in a place where the power can go out for many hours and having battery powered lights in the home is a must. I've charged the batteries dozens of times. Compared to buying disposable batteries, it definitely paid off. Electricity to charge my batteries would cost minimal, but I would like to know that the light illuminating the road ahead is stored…

Great idea, could have been implemented better

Great idea that could have been done better. I live in Puerto Rico and have been without power for four months due to Hurricane Maria. Buying batteries to power my devices became very expensive. I ordered eight "D" batteries to run my large electric fan. I thought that was enough. Unfortunately, the device only supports two batteries of any size at a time. This is normal when charging "AAA" or "AA" batteries. But with two "D" batteries at the same time, and the device charges them in about…
