I have no idea why this works. It doesn't look like two straps above and below the knee will stop knee pain, but it does. My husband has constant swelling in his knees, has had surgery and continues to play racquetball. We wanted to go back to the orthopedist for a second operation because his knee is still swelling and painful. We have used every possible need and support. His friend, I told him about it, oh I looked it up and said it wouldn't help at all. My husband insisted so we found that he has been playing racquetball for several months now with no pain or swelling. I think it's just a miracle.
