Review on 💽 Verbatim 4TB Store and Save Desktop Hard Drive, USB 3.0, Diamond Black 99399 by Terry Moore

So this is a new design of the Verbatim hard drive. I think this is a step BACK compared to previous models. Previous models had an aluminum frame, while the new construction is made of plastic. Previous models had rubber feet at the bottom, while the new design has no feet at all. The USB cable is still very short, and the length of the power adapter cable has also become shorter. Good thing it still uses the same 12V 1.5A adapter as previous models so I can use these instead. Fortunately, a Samsung hard drive is still installed. This is the Samsung HD204UI model, known for being cool, very quiet and being the most reliable drive on the market. The front LED is blue instead of amber on previous models. It also has an on/off switch instead of a button. Air vents are now on the sides. The previous model had vents at the bottom. It should therefore always run nice and cool, even after a few hours of operation. Overall I'm happy with this drive, but I'm not sure why Verbatim sacrificed the quality of the case. They still back their product with a 7-year warranty that no other manufacturer can beat. This is my seventh purchase of Verbatim discs and I will continue to purchase them.
