not sure if the problem was in that or the door handle. Other than that I got it quickly as expected, it's a bit of a hassle to install but that's just because of where the part goes. Although there are some good videos on YouTube. It works out? Absolutely. This fits my '04 Dodge Ram 3500 perfectly, I only gave it 4 stars because I don't know if my old one still works or not. it could be my frozen doorknob. after changing the lock it got worse. I took the doorknob off, lubricated it with gear oil (that's all I had at the time), reinstalled the doorknob and everything works great now. No matter how much trouble there was with installing the part, I wasn't interested in removing the new part to install the old one to see if it still worked. I'll pretend the old one is bad lol
