Review on 🔧 D27257 Compressor Regulator by Devilbiss Craftsman by Melvin Goerge

The regulator I received was not part of the D27257 and as many have said does not have a gauge port in the tank just an adjustable gauge port. There are actually two gauge ports, but one is plugged and both ports are for regulated pressure; Do not try to connect two sensors. If you are having problems with your regulator, you have several options. 1. Try to repair yours. A. Depressurize the tank and remove the retaining nut and plastic cover shroud, then remove the upper regulator dome. It has two flat pads on the key thread. B. Unlock the regulator by pulling up and then turning clockwise to push out the plunger. C. Inspect the piston and O-ring and lubricate with silicone grease or hydraulic oil. D. Inspect and lubricate the o-ring that connects the regulator dome to the valve body. I have found all of these parts were in good condition and no problem. E. Remove the 11/16" jam nut from the bottom of the regulator. Be careful not to lose the spring and valve as they may fall out when the nut is removed. Check the spring, valve and nut. F. Clean, lubricate and reassemble these parts. The problem with my regulator was that it leaked air at all settings except the maximum regulated pressure. This was due to corrosion and contamination of the nut and valve assembly (see photo). I was able to clean and lubricate these parts and send the controller in. This entire process can be completed in about 30 minutes without removing the regulator or gauges 2. If your o-rings and seals are not serviceable you can purchase this part from Revain and use the parts from it on your current valve body way you can keep the reg tank pressure function 3. Rebuild kits are available for a few dollars on other websites under "Compressor Regulator Replacement Repair Kit".4. You may be able to find a replacement pressure regulator with tank pressure and pressure set elsewhere.5. If you don't care about tank pressure, this product will work.
