Breeches fit differently than top pants with crash report

As advertised these pants are suitable for riding, not top pants. They fit well as pants, but also fit one size larger as top pants. The zipper only goes to the knee, which makes getting dressed slower, but as pants (you don't wear shoes over jeans, do you?) it's fine. I would not put my shoes through my pants when putting them on or taking them off. The waist falls high to the navel or slightly higher. The oversized pocket makes the knee pads appear too low when walking, but they fit perfectly on the bike. Unlike my AGV leather one-piece tracksuit, I never think of knee pads on a bike again. The hip pads can be easily crumpled and slipped due to the large padded pockets when putting on the trousers, but a little attention when pulling up the trousers corrects this. The pants come with rain lining and quilt lining, I haven't used them yet as I haven't ridden them in the rain and the pants are warm enough unlined until mid 30's. (As it gets deeper, the hoop begins to seep through the flexible panels and into the inner thigh.) Wearing them as overpants is fine, but the thigh-length zipper and a slightly looser fit make them that much better. I have been riding for 30 years and in my opinion this product is of high quality. Overall I am impressed with these pants as all season pants and would buy them again. Crash tests: I jumped off the bike abruptly at about 70 km/h, falling onto my side/bottom and sliding. These pants did it. No broken bones, just a big bruise on one thigh below the hip joint. The pant shows light scuffing along the velcro flap with a small 1/2 inch hole next to the flap and heavier abrasions on the bottom of the pant. The material frayed/ripped across my wallet but didn't scratch the jeans underneath. The pants held up much better than the Speed&Strength jacket, which had some seams unraveling and a few holes fraying. The crash was severe enough to cause a concussion and head injury, but the pants look only slightly damaged and repairable on the seat. I would happily buy them again.
