In the beginning the controller worked like a dream. It was necessary to set the output voltage to 12V, which is what I got. The input was 19A at 6.3A so in the range 4.5-30V. I installed the regulator, hooked up the unit to my LED strips for a test run and it ran for about 10 seconds before the lights went out went out and I smelled burning from the board. Thermal Sync was warm but not untouchable. Although I did hear a cracking sound like there was plastic on fire somewhere. I unhooked the headlights and pulled out a voltmeter. I tried readjusting the regulator but the output got stuck at 6.0 volts (not amps). didn't move up or down no matter how I adjusted the screw. Quality control on these things seems lacking at best. But that's what you get when you buy cheap parts. Lesson learned. Never again.
