Good product and meets its specs/claims

I've been trying to find a good regulated 1-2A 25V DC regulator to interface with some of my switching power supplies. I've tried a few cheaper sticks that claimed to be 75W but couldn't even handle 5V at 750mA without stalling. They seem to meet all their needs, they have a very nice design and good powerful radiators. I wish they had slightly larger I/O ports for wires, but you can just solder to the bottom output as well. Overall, this product works great in my application.

Worked well in power converters

So far it's worked great for me. Based on some negative reviews, I'm glad I got a good one. It was hot, so my first few uses: I used it to run an extra 90W radiator fan by connecting it directly to a 100W solar panel (12V nominal but 19V output), and it ran nonstop (so strong and powerful) all day until the sun went down where the fan had just slowed down but was still running. I saw one of the reviewers where it exploded (I happen to have an old CPU heatsink). I have installed it on other…

In the beginning the controller worked like a dream

In the beginning the controller worked like a dream. It was necessary to set the output voltage to 12V, which is what I got. The input was 19A at 6.3A so in the range 4.5-30V. I installed the regulator, hooked up the unit to my LED strips for a test run and it ran for about 10 seconds before the lights went out went out and I smelled burning from the board. Thermal Sync was warm but not untouchable. Although I did hear a cracking sound like there was plastic on fire somewhere. I unhooked the…

Explodes in my face!

I'm so glad I wear glasses and didn't lose my eye when it exploded in my face! Sitting at my desk doing electronics or soldering, my head is about a foot and a half from the surface. Capacitor C1 failed, the board exploded straight up and the aluminum case hit me in the forehead. The paper, foil, and internal parts of the condenser looked like tiny splinters. Minor cuts, more than skin tears and yes. The back of the board had sticky residue and "chalk" leaks on it. I have NO load on the circuit

Works great in harsh environments.

I mounted it on the underside of my off-road electric motorcycle to maintain the 8 amp supply at all times. The wires are even held firmly in place by screws, and the tension hasn't changed through all the jumping, bumpy off-road riding, etc. I had to cover the top to prevent a lot of dirt and water from going straight into the unit. away from my front wheel, so I decided to epoxidize the extra heatsink I had on top of the heatsinks already installed on the unit. I ordered arctic alumina…

Works cool but watch out for RFI

This delivery worked much better than expected. I was ready to upgrade all the capacitors but no problems so far. If you want to be careful, the recommended capacitor is Panasonic EEU-FRH331LB, 330uF/50V. The heatsinks are floating so they can be safely grounded. The negative input and output terminals are connected together. Tested with an input voltage of 14.2V. The output voltage was well regulated, better than 0.1% with a 0-3A load. It could be adjusted from 1.25 to 13.9V with a 4 ohm load…

DROK 12A/100W Step Down Converter Measurements and Specifications

I'll start this review by saying that I like this module. It appears to be very well constructed and it is a marvel of Chinese manufacture that it can be sold at such a low price. Try estimating the cost of various components and heatsinks and you'll see what I mean. On the downside, along with the low price, there will also be some hiccups in infant mortality, so you could end up with the occasional 'smoker'. I bought this converter as an input regulator for a desktop programmable power supply
