Review on HYS Dual Band Telescopic/Rod Soft Antenna VHF/UHF BNC: Compatible with Vertex HR146, HX300, HX320, HX400 Walkie Talkie by Thomas Henry

Bought one of these for a 1980's Yaesu FT-530 dual band HT. Nice BNC connector and well made. Ideal 8 inches for everyday use. Bonus, if you want 14 inches, gently pull on the top of the antenna and the 6 "thin wire" will slide out of the center of the antenna. Works very well for its price. Better to get 2 meter and 440 trans than some of my $25-$35 Diamond, Comet etc. So impressed with the performance and telescope design I bought 2 more to stay away. I paid $39 for a Diamond BNC metal telescope that is about 6 inches when closed and 13 inches when fully extended. Can only transmit to the Diamond when deployed without damaging the radio. This HYS works fine with the same local repeater range (distance 18 miles ) at 1W without extending the hidden thin wire My favorite antenna made of 5 different BNCs.
