My previous aftermarket exhaust was a heartthrob. It sounded amazing. I could hear that muffler from the cockpit enough without being obnoxious. It also had no rumble. Unfortunately, after 3 years, the two exhaust flanges were completely rusted through. I switched to the FLOWMASTER Super 40 based on the many reviews I read about various silencers. The noise in the cockpit is almost zero, there is no rumble at any speed. I've had mufflers in the past that drove me and my wife crazy. The Super 40 exhaust sound level at the exhaust tips gives a very pleasing sound (similar to the low tone of my previous muffler). The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I was hoping it would be a little louder. Not loud enough to wake the neighbors at 4:30 am when I go to work. But a little louder than it is. When I step on it, it sounds great, but it's still a bit muffled. Okay, the noise level talk is over. Maybe his mind is more important than matter, but I find my truck with this new muffler responds better than my previous one. I also have a cold air intake. I welded mine on and since it didn't fit perfectly they had to add some tubing on both exits. The final cost of my installation was 200.00. It appears to be well made and I hope it will last more than 3 years.
