This bag works great but the padding at the bottom or lack thereof makes cats uncomfortable so you have to put a towel in it. It could be a bit bigger for the Half Maine Coon we have, but it works for fast drives. That's a lot better than lugging around a box. It also feels a lot safer simply because even if the shoulder strap snaps the cat can't get out and you can carry them by the grip straps. The carrier drawer hangs by the locking screws on the edges. I've always doubted it. So overall I recommend this product. And if you have a small cat, it is also suitable for long trips. We only use it to get to the vet.
