I work with solar energy as a hobby. I work off the grid, powering my hams without the need for 120VAC from the electric utility. I have several solar panels. I used to support them with a ladder to charge them with 12V DC radio batteries. This solar panel rail mounting kit makes installing solar panel much easier and gives it a professional look. I have a standard 100 watt solar panel and attached this kit to it (see photo). I was able to position the solar panel at the optimal angle to catch the sun's rays and charge the SLA and LifeP04 batteries. This kit is of high quality and carefully assembled. I like the thickness of the aluminum rails which add stability to the whole setup. The kit comes with everything you need for installation, including bolts, nuts and a pair of medium wrenches to tighten the bolts. I like it. I can "break" my solar panel setup simply by loosening the finger tight screws and bending the rails (see photo). I can then store it almost horizontally. I originally planned to build my own mounting kit from angle rails I bought at my local hardware store. I checked the prices of the components and found that it's not cheap. This kit may cost a little more than the individual components, but it's worth the extra cost of a kit designed specifically for solar panels. I highly recommend it.
