I've been installing new custom vanity tops and wanted to add a simple waterproof sheet to keep the metal can from rattling open the countertop. the lower part of the cabinets is made of natural wood. Spills, rust rings, water stains and other annoyances from bathroom cleaners and sanitizers under sinks are inevitable. Pros/Cons: Pros: - Waterproof backing with alignment/cutting lines for easy measuring and cutting. Cons: (This is a LONG list) - Backer is a real pain to remove. There's no "starter tab" you can grab and peel off. When the backing finally peels off, it tears and can leave small pieces on the adhesive backing. it acts like old-school Velcro - it sticks to everything, including itself. - Difficult to smooth even with large plastic closet fillers. - Even more difficult to apply them in a closet. I applied it to sheets of 30 x 60 smooth furniture plywood and it was a real mistake, but it was far worse in a closed closet space. This stuff works but gets a lot of abuse. Remove and replace and general chaos. I'm looking for another brand - there must be a better product like this. I eventually switched to a non-stick shelf liner that is thicker and just sits in place. They can be removed after cleaning, are easy to cut and last longer than thin adhesive films. The Velcro experiment is over for me. Hope that helps!
