I gave Gorilla Glue a try, based on reputation, to use as a "general purpose" glue where Super Glue or Elmer's was not appropriate. This stuff doesn't hold unless you clamp/weight the thing you are gluing (patio chair wrap strand, craft wood less than 1/16th thick, bamboo, flap of a shoe sole) overnight. In having to clamp it, it squishes all over and out from between what is glued. I bought the clear glue and it is not clear. It is a brownish beige color when it dries (for string players, think "dark rosin" color). I've also tried their Super Glue and it was disappointing too (took forever to dry, didn't hold).
