These are SUPER bright, super vibrant lights. They look nothing at all like the little dots of fairy lights on copper wire I've had over the years - they're much bigger, much more colorful, and really bright (can't stress this enough). If you're looking for subtle strands of light to softly accent and illuminate a table or architectural elements (mantle, shelf top, etc.), these are too bright. It's more like small neon signs. The remote control feature is very cool - you can adjust the color of the lights, but only in "steady on" mode and only one color at a time. So if you order this thinking you can 'program' the light to flash blue purple etc, there is no way to do that. There are a few "color mixes" in the presets, but they all flash like a police light, and many of the combinations are red, white, and blue. Good for July 4th, but not for other holidays when you usually turn on the lights. There's also no gentle "flickering" or flickering, which the manufacturers of these lights still can't do, but it seems to be a universal setting that we're all very fond of. The major downside is that they cannot be spliced back to back - you need a USB to wall jack for EACH of these cables. So if you plan to fill the whole tree with it, be prepared to have a couple of small USB boxes or a hub with multiple USB ports ready. Overall, they will look great on any tree, large or small. I have ordered several different sets of these lights from different suppliers with different brands and they are all exactly the same, with the same remote control etc - just to be on the safe side so you can order the best set for you regardless of supplier/brand .
