This cover is EXACTLY what I was looking for I had this in my cart for a couple of weeks due to the mixed reviews but I am very glad I took the plunge and bought it.I have a 2.5 gallon Aqueon brand aqueon hence I'm not sure if the reviewers who said it wasn't suitable for their aquariums are from another company, but I have the same lid as this one, I actually have a bit of room for wires between the end of the lid as well and the top plastic parts in my tank and I know this was another issue the reviewers had Honestly if all you're looking for is a 2.5 gallon Aqueon glass water cap this is perfect and exactly what you are looking for. My Betta agrees too :)
